Social Worker

Responsible for helping vulnerable populations work through challenges. Teach stress management and coping methods, stand up for social justice, and improve communities and individual lives.

• Provide counseling and support to individuals, families, and groups in a variety of settings, including mental health clinics, schools, hospitals, and private practices.
• Help people of all ages cope with the challenges they face in their lives.
• Identify people who need help and then evaluate their needs, situations, and strengths.
• Refer individuals to local resources like childcare, healthcare services, and food stamps.
• Advocate for the rights and well-being of clients and assist them with creating personal goals.
• Support people who are dealing with problems like abuse, mental health issues, addiction, and poverty or are going through major life changes, such as divorce or the death of a loved one.
• Follow up with individuals to see if their situations have improved since they accepted help.
