As a Patient Access Scheduler, you'll:





  • Be responsible for receiving inbound contacts (calls, emails, faxes, etc.) from patients and physicians requesting services that need to be scheduled.





  • Interview callers to obtain a full understanding of what information is being requested or scheduled.





  • Coordinate complex appointment scheduling, link consults and ancillary services, and maintain patient demographic and insurance preregistration information in appropriate department scheduling system (mainly Epic).





  • Provide patients with information on physicians, directions to locations, required pre-testing, educational materials, and any other items prior to service.





  • Provide high quality customer service on every call.





  • Be responsible for satisfying the patient, staff or caller and maintaining the image and integrity of HCMC.





  • Provide exceptional customer service to callers, patients and staff. Ability to stay calm under pressure.





What you'll bring:





  • 2+ years of experience in medical office, hospital, medical call center or similar customer service environment





  • High school diploma or GED





  • Passion for helping others





  • Ability to think quickly and problem solve





  • Ability to talk and type simultaneously, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.





  • Must type at least 35 wpm.




About us:

Salary Range: Minimum 16.86 per hour - Maximum 27.84 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
