Learn more about the benefits of working at UC Brief Summary of Job Duties: Under the direction of the Business Systems Analyst Manager, the BFS Production Systems Analyst 2 (or 3) supports Business and Financial Services (BFS) by analyzing business systems, identifying process improvements, and solving problems through comprehensive system analysis. The BFS Production Systems Analyst 2 is responsible for supporting the maintenance and enhancement of UCSB's production systems, including but not limited to SAP Concur, Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle Electronic Data Management Cloud, and Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence. Formulates and defines the scope and objectives for moderately complex business processes and systems. This role involves documenting business processes, developing specifications, writing functional design documents, testing system changes, and ensuring continuous business operations. Additionally, this position will assist with the development of reports and tools for internal and external stakeholders and offering backup support to other Business Systems Analysts as needed. (At the level 3, the BFS Business Systems Analyst, provides expert analysis and solutions for complex business systems, involves identifying and evaluating business processes, developing system requirements, designing solutions to meet business needs, and ensuring the ongoing security of systems and data. Additionally, this role is responsible for user provisioning for the financial ERP system, ensuring proper access and permissions are maintained for users). *Please note: Final level will be determined at point of hire and is dependent on the skills, knowledge, education and experience of final candidate. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training - 1-3 years Experience analyzing moderately complex business processes and problems, developing solutions through computer systems and information flow, creating specifications for systems to meet requirements, validating needs, designing automated systems, planning and executing unit integration and acceptance testing, and developing user reference materials and trainings. Required and - 1-3 years Experience facing complex problems and utilizing problem-solving abilities in working with system users and technical staff to resolve issues and prioritize end-user needs. Required and - 1-3 years Experience communicating technology needs to both technical and non-technical audiences. Required and - Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. - Relevant business analysis and systems implementation experience. Ability to use SQL or other query tools for analysis. - Skills associated with analysis of processes and issues of moderate scope, information flow and architecture. BFS Business Systems Analyst/BSA level 3 (advanced): - Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training - Extensive experience analyzing complex business processes and problems, developing computer-based solutions, and creating detailed functional and technical specifications Required - Experience leading cross-functional teams through business process or systems issues. Required - Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. - Thorough Knowledge of related areas of IT. - Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture. - In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description. - Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. - Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: BFS Production Analyst/BSA level 2 (experienced): - 1-3 years Experience working effectively and collaboratively with faculty and other stakeholders at various levels, ensuring that applications meet business objectives. Preferred and - 1-3 years Experience in the policy and regulatory environment of information security, especially in higher education. Preferred and - 1-3 years Experience with Oracle Cloud Applications Preferred and - BFS Business Systems Analyst/BSA level 3 (advanced): - Experience implementing and maintaining security protocols, including user provisioning and access management for ERP systems.
