Senior Cost Accountant

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join adynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively. This role is critical in driving financial efficiency and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, and forecasts, providing insights to management on cost trends and variances.
  • Develop and maintain standard costs for products and services, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial goals.
  • Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for improvement, optimizing manufacturing and operating costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to determine cost drivers and efficiencies.
  • Implement and monitor cost control measures, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including variance analysis and reconciliations.
  • Support the development of financial models and scenarios to guide strategic planning initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of [5+] years of experience in cost accounting or a similar financial role
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting methods and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
