Description

As our Economic Studies Engineer (III or Senior), you will analyze transmission expansions to address energy market inefficiencies using various production cost modeling tools. You will also contribute to developing innovative solutions to transform the grid of the future, collaborating with multi-functional teams, and building lasting relationships with MISO stakeholders.

In this role, you will:



  • Conduct transmission planning studies and develop studies to address state and federal policies.
  • Investigate operational conditions in a simulated environment.
  • Evaluate the financial benefits for companies seeking MISO membership.


Within one year, you will know you have succeeded as an Economic Studies Engineer (III or Senior) if:



  • You effectively respond to external customer inquiries through Siebel/MS Dynamics/Shared Email Inboxes.
  • You prepare materials for presentations at PAC, PSC, RECBWG, and SPM stakeholder meetings.
  • You work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members on data requests, demonstrating decisiveness and leadership.
  • You show a willingness to engage and be mentored during stakeholder interactions.


      We are looking for talented professionals who hold a bachelor's degree or higher in one of several engineering disciplines. Please refer to the list below for the qualifying degrees.

      Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

      Experience
      Experience with PSS/E &/or Transmission Adequacy Reliability Assessment (TARA). (preferred)
      Experience related to Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) &/or Regional Reliability Organization (RRO). (preferred)
      1 years: Experience with PROMOD and PROMOD Analysis Tool (PAT) (required)
      4 years: Relevant industry experience required. (required)
