Job Description

JOB POSTING: ASSOCIATE PROJECT DIRECTOR, MUSEUMS10 WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Five Colleges, Incorporated (FCI) has updated this job posting to seek an Associate Project Director for its three- year grant-funded Museums10 Workforce Development project. The associate project director researches, designs, implements, assesses, and refines a program of professional development opportunities for museum staff and for interns pursuing museum careers. By leveraging existing professional development opportunities; designing trainings; identifying subject matter experts for speaking and skill-building engagements; and implementing evaluation and assessment tools to optimize the program and prepare it for long-term use, the associate project director addresses identified needs and meets project goals.

This is a full-time, exempt, benefited position with Five Colleges, Incorporated. The primary work location for this in-person role is in Amherst, Massachusetts, but requires occasional in-person visits to the partnering museums.

FCI is the higher education consortium that supports the excellence of its member campuses - Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith colleges, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst - through extensive academic and administrative collaborations.

Among its many initiatives, FCI convenes Museums10 (M10), a collaboration among the member campuses' seven museums and three affiliated museums (Historic Deerfield, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, and the Yiddish Book Center). Building on a long record of cross-museum collaboration, the Museums10 Workforce Development project is a multi-year, grant-funded program to develop professional skills among the museums' workforces.
