This postdoctoral NIH-funded position will investigate the pathophysiology and therapy of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) with a focus on chronic GVHD (cGVHD), the major cause of morbidity and mortality after hematopoietic transplants. Our studies were foundational for the two currently FDA approved drugs to treat refractory cGVHD. This project will utilize novel murine strains and cGVHD to test cell infusion and drug therapies. State-of-the-art assays including single cell RNA-seq, metabolomics and metabolic function, isotopomer tracing, and regulatory T cell gene editing, amongst others. The successful candidate will have a strong background in immunology, interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment at the University of Minnesota (UMN) Pediatric Blood & Marrow Transplant & Cellular Therapy Division.
