Position at McKinstry Co., LLC

Build the future, spark innovation and align your career with purpose.

McKinstry is innovating the waste and climate harm out of the built environment and creating lasting impact. Together, we're building a thriving planet.

Buildings are a leading contributor to the climate crisis, generating nearly 40% of total global energy-related carbon emissions. We're making a lasting impact on our industry and within our communities by addressing the climate, affordability and equity crises through:

  • renewables and energy services
  • engineering and design
  • construction and facility services

To get where we're going, we need big thinkers, problem solvers and collaborative mindsets. Does that sound like you?

The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Business OperationsCoordinator to our Pasco office. The Business Operations Coordinator supports the daily operations of McKinstry's two Pasco office/shop locations while providing responsive administrative, project, and business support to Tri-Cities teams. This is a highly visible, hands-on role that helps keep both workplaces organized, connected, efficient, and welcoming.Because the Tri-Cities operation has a smaller but diverse footprint, this position requires someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, moving between two facilities, working independently, and shifting priorities throughout the day. The coordinator partners closely with employees, leaders, project teams, vendors, and the broader PNW Office Operations team. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

Office & Shop Operations

  • Serve as a primary local resource for day-to-day operational needs across both Pasco office/shop locations.
  • Coordinate supplies, shared resources, workplace organization, vendors, and facility-related needs.
  • Support onboarding logistics, visitors, access/badging processes, and general employee questions.
  • Identify operational needs or issues early, coordinate solutions, and engage additional resources when needed.
  • Help maintain safe, functional, organized, and welcoming work environments at both facilities.

Administrative & Project Support

  • Provide administrative support to local operational groups and project teams, including job folders, documentation, project closeouts, and related coordination.
  • Support recurring operational meetings, agendas, follow-up items, and team communications.
  • Maintain organized records, trackers, and reference materials that improve consistency and visibility.
  • Provide flexible administrative support as business and project needs evolve.

Financial & Business Support

  • Assist with cost-tracking spreadsheets, forecasting follow-up, write-up/write-down coordination, and other routine financial or operational reporting.
  • Partner with leaders and project teams to gather information, identify outstanding items, and support timely business decisions.
  • Maintain accurate and useful operational data and consistently follow through on assigned action items.

Communication, Culture & Events

  • Support local office communications, updates, and newsletters as needed.
  • Coordinate or support Tri-Cities employee, client, and community events in partnership with regional Office Operations.
  • Help strengthen connection and communication between employees working across the two Pasco locations.
  • Contribute to a positive employee experience and welcoming environment for visiting employees, clients, and partners.

Space, Facilities & Continuous Improvement

  • Support workspace planning, office/shop improvements, vendor coordination, and facility needs across both Pasco locations.
  • Monitor workplace needs and help coordinate maintenance, supplies, equipment, and other operational resources.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes, organization, communication, and the overall employee experience.
  • Partner closely with the PNW Office Operations team to maintain consistent practices and cross-office support.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and locations.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfort working with leaders, office employees, field/shop employees, project teams, vendors, and visitors.
  • Experience in office operations, business administration, project coordination, construction/operations support, or a similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and confidence creating and maintaining spreadsheets, trackers, and shared documentation.
  • Ability to work with routine financial and operational information accurately and discreetly.
  • Resourceful, adaptable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable in an environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • Strong follow-through and the ability to work independently without constant direction.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when an issue can be resolved independently and when additional support is needed.
