Benefits Representative Location: Greensboro, NC Pay:$25.00 per hour 26-10230 Job Summary The Benefits Representative provides end-to-end support for employees and HR partners by administering Benefits transactions, answering inquiries, and ensuring accurate and timely service. This role supports enrollment, eligibility, life events, compliance activities, data maintenance, issue resolution, and employee communications while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The Benefits Representative collaborates across Benefits, Payroll, HRIS, People Operations, and other teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and deliver a positive employee experience. Job Responsibilities
- Process Benefits transactions accurately and timely in accordance with established procedures, policies, plan provisions, and applicable regulations.
- Administer Benefits enrollments, life event changes, beneficiary updates, COBRA, terminations, retirements, and death claims.
- Provide employees and HR partners with guidance regarding Benefits programs, eligibility, coverage, and enrollment processes.
- Respond to employee inquiries through phone, email, chat, and other service channels.
- Maintain accurate employee and Benefits information in applicable systems.
- Review transactions for completeness and accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Research and resolve Benefits issues using established procedures, policies, and available resources.
- Escalate complex issues and coordinate with Benefits, Payroll, HRIS, vendors, and other partners as needed.
- Document inquiries, transactions, complaints, and resolutions in applicable service management systems.
- Follow issues through resolution and communicate status and outcomes clearly.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee, Benefits, medical, and other sensitive information.
- Maintain working knowledge of Benefits programs, eligibility requirements, policies, procedures, and plan provisions.
- Support audits, annual reporting, employee data validation, and other Benefits compliance activities.
- Apply applicable privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA requirements when applicable.
- Identify data and process discrepancies and support corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve Benefits processes and the employee experience.
- Participate in root cause analysis and recommend sustainable solutions for recurring issues.
- Maintain work instructions, process documentation, checklists, and knowledge-sharing materials.
- Participate in system testing, enhancements, and Benefits-related projects.
- Support new employee orientation and provide information regarding Benefits programs and enrollment.
- Support annual open enrollment activities, including employee communications and onsite support at various business locations as needed.
- Train colleagues and stakeholders on Benefits processes and procedures as appropriate.
- Collaborate with People Operations, Benefits, Payroll, HRIS, HR Business Partners, and other teams.
- Provide backup support and assist with workload balancing and special projects.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused team environment.
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in Human Resources, Benefits, HR Operations, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Benefits administration, processes, eligibility, and enrollment.
- Ability to interpret and apply Benefits policies, procedures, plan provisions, and applicable regulations.
- Strong customer service and employee-focused approach.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and issue-resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee and medical information.

Education
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
