Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled, safety-focused Industrial Refrigeration Test Technician to inspect, commission, troubleshoot, and functionally test industrial glycol and refrigeration chillers prior to shipment.

This position is responsible for verifying that equipment operates safely, performs according to engineering specifications, and meets company quality standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with refrigeration, electrical, and control systems, and capable of diagnosing and resolving equipment issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform functional testing, startup, commissioning, and final quality verification of industrial refrigeration systems, chillers, and related equipment prior to shipment.
  
  
• Review engineering documentation including wiring diagrams, piping schematics, bills of material, test procedures, and specifications to ensure equipment is configured and tested correctly.
  
  
• Inspect, operate, and evaluate refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and control systems while recording operating data and verifying performance against design requirements.
  
  
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, controls, and system-performance issues; coordinate corrective actions with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  
  
• Perform leak testing, system evacuation, refrigerant charging, refrigerant recovery, and related activities in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  
  
• Navigate and utilize PLCs, HMIs, controllers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other control interfaces to support testing, troubleshooting, and equipment verification.
  
  
• Complete test reports, inspection records, refrigerant documentation, and other required quality records while maintaining accurate testing documentation.
  
  
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, maintain testing equipment and work areas, assist with training of team members, and perform other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
  
  
• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, controls, or related technical environments.
  
  
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, refrigeration schematics, piping drawings, bills of material, and technical documentation.
  
  
• Experience using testing, diagnostic, or measurement equipment and documenting results in computer-based systems or electronic records.
  
  

Preferences:

• Experience testing, servicing, commissioning, or troubleshooting commercial or industrial refrigeration, HVAC, process cooling, or engineered equipment.
  
  
• EPA Section 608 Certification, technical degree, apprenticeship, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  
  
• Experience working with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, electrical controls, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, sensors, and related industrial equipment.
  
  
• Experience performing refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, leak testing, brazing, or other refrigeration-related activities; OSHA, electrical safety, or Lockout/Tagout training is a plus.
  
  

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

This is a fully onsite position based in a manufacturing environment and requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. The individual must safely work around electrical equipment, refrigeration systems, pressurized components, moving machinery, and active production operations while complying with all company safety policies and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
