This Quality Control Technician is responsible for field-level testing, inspection, and documentation to ensure all construction activities meet contract specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. They will be working directly with the Quality Control Manager on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document daily QC activities, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)

  • Verify materials and workmanship comply with contract plans and specifications prior to and during installation

  • Coordinate with project engineers and superintendents to identify and resolve quality issues in the field

  • Maintain accurate QC logs, submittals, and inspection reports for project records and closeout

  • Support internal and external audits, including owner and regulatory inspections

  • Track and report non-conforming work items through resolution

  • Assist with development and implementation of the project Quality Control Plan (QCP)

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in construction quality control, materials testing, or related field role

  • Working knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO testing standards for soils, concrete, and aggregates

  • Strong written documentation and reporting skills

  • Proficiency with QC software/documentation systems (e.g., QCS, Procore, or similar)

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Working Conditions

  • Travel can be required with this position within the United States. This project is located in Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia. Subsequent projects will be nationally based.

  • Work is performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.

  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.

  • Position requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting in a construction environment.

  • Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites.

  • Work is additionally done in an office environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
