Associate degree, technical training, or coursework in Construction Management, Engineering, Drafting, or a related field preferred. Training in blueprint reading, quantity takeoffs, and construction estimating is a plus. Experience Requirements Extensive experience estimating commercial construction and/or heavy industrial construction projects. Proven ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings. Experience performing detailed material takeoffs, labor calculations, and cost estimating. Strong knowledge of concrete construction, industrial foundations, rebar placement, anchor bolts, construction sequencing, and labor requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and construction-related estimating tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AutoCAD and the ability to navigate drawings, obtain dimensions, and review design details. Familiarity with Microsoft Project and project scheduling software. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Physical Capabilities Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to review drawings, plans, and technical documents in both digital and printed formats. May occasionally visit construction sites and navigate active industrial environments. Ability to lift and carry project documents, plans, and materials up to 25 pounds. Job Duties Develop accurate, competitive estimates for commercial and heavy industrial construction projects. Review plans, specifications, and project documents to determine scope, labor, material, and equipment requirements. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for concrete, foundations, rebar, anchor bolts, and related construction work. Prepare professional bids, proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation. Assist with material procurement and project coordination activities. Monitor project costs and compare actual progress against original estimates. Maintain organized records of estimates, drawings, specifications, takeoffs, and project cost data.
