Communications Specialist, Retail

3-6 months, 40 hours a week

Hybrid: Onsite Mon, Tues, and Thurs

We're seeking an Communications Specialist with corporate or retail communications experience to develop clear, engaging communications, create PowerPoint presentations, prepare weekly reports, and manage multiple projects while supporting a positive operator experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Store Support team at a national grocer empowers Independent Operators and Aspiring Operators in Training (AOTs) through best-in-class communication, training, project management, and operational support. What You'll Do



  • Create, edit, and publish operator communications, newsletters, and intranet content.
  • Manage multiple communication projects, ensuring timelines and approvals stay on track.
  • Proofread and edit content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Update calendars, news articles, presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Build engaging PowerPoint presentations using established templates and brand standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to communicate key programs and change initiatives.
  • Organize communication assets and support operator meetings and events.
  • Travel approximately 10% throughout the year for store visits and meetings.


What We're Looking For



  • 2-3 years of experience in corporate communications, field communications, retail operations, or a related role.
  • Retail industry experience is required (grocery, Gap, Ross, or other multi-location retailers).
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Canva is required.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including basic Excel functions (PivotTables and VLOOKUPs).
  • Experience with email or intranet communication platforms; Staffbase experience is a plus but not required.
  • Quick learner with a collaborative mindset and strong organizational skills.

The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
