What to Expect
You will lead on-site due diligence and Property Condition Assessments of existing commercial buildings with a focus on HVAC and power distribution, all across North America. The Field Engineer will produce clear technical reports that define Tenant Improvement scope, risks, and order-of-magnitude cost drivers for all the projects within the Infrastructure Development team. This position requires an experienced and competent individual with a high level of ownership and travel up to 75%.
What You'll Do
- Perform Property Condition Assessments, Engineering Due diligence and survey of MEP systems in existing commercial buildings. This includes evaluating the health of existing HVAC systems, identifying electrical power distributions, and evaluating equipment conditions
- Identify deficiencies, code compliance gaps, maintenance issues, order of magnitude costs, risk drivers and scope definition, then translate findings into clear field reports
- Execute field investigations, visual inspections, diagnostic testing, photo documentation, and verify maintenance records
- Show understanding of operating procedures for mechanical facilities equipment including, hydronics systems, pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, boilers and dehumidifiers
- Troubleshoot MEP problems in active, fully operational facilities
- Collaborate with internal and external teams daily including Engineering, Design, Real Estate, Construction, AoR/EoR, and Facilities
- Cross-train with structural/civil field engineers. Share MEP due diligence practices and progressively learn to support other building infrastructure assessments
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years offieldexperienceassessing existing commercialHVACandelectrical/power distribution systems
- Demonstrated experience producingtechnical field reportsincluding butnot limited toPCA, due diligence,survey of existingequipment, deficiencyreports)
- Familiaritywithrelevant codesandstandards(IMC/UMC,IPC/UPC,NEC, ASHRAE,NFPA);ASTM E2018preferred

- Interest in growing beyond asingle discipline: Willingness to learnanddevelopcompetenceinstructural/civil assessments and coach others
- Thisposition requirestravelingup to 75%with a valid driver's license
