Job Summary

The Stockroom Clerk I is responsible for supporting inventory control, material handling, receiving, stockroom operations, and material movement activities within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the accurate receipt, storage, tracking, and distribution of materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory management systems, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Coordinate with operations and production teams to support material movement requirements, including kit pulls, Kanban replenishment, milk runs, cycle counts, and inventory transactions.
  • Perform inventory management activities in accordance with established procedures and system requirements.
  • Utilize SAP or other inventory management systems to process inventory transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Receive, inspect, count, weigh, measure, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, invoices, bills of lading, and shipping documentation.
  • Unpack incoming shipments and identify shortages, discrepancies, or damaged materials.
  • Route materials and inventory to designated departments and production areas.
  • Verify incoming materials meet quality and specification requirements.
  • Process inbound inventory and distribute materials to manufacturing teams and production cells.
  • Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and inventory availability.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within SAP, Oracle, or other inventory management systems.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, receiving issues, and documentation errors.
  • Assist with material recycling and inventory disposition activities.
  • Support stockroom organization, inventory storage, and material control processes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to provide inventory and stockroom support.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, inventory procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Cross-train and learn additional warehouse, inventory, and material management functions as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, SAP, MRP systems, or similar ERP platforms.
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory transactions and material verification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.


Work Experience



  • Experience in inventory control, stockroom operations, receiving, warehouse operations, or material handling preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience using SAP, Oracle, or other ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Experience performing cycle counts and inventory audits preferred.
  • Experience supporting production or manufacturing operations preferred.


Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)



  • Position is based onsite in a manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders required.
  • Ability to consistently lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Work may be performed in stockroom, warehouse, receiving, and manufacturing floor environments.
