What to Expect
Tesla is looking for an experienced Senior Incident Investigation and SupportEngineer forthe Field Quality, Data AnalysisandEngineering team.This role willsupport theIncidentInvestigation,Safetyand Regulatory & Legal teams.The individual willbe dedicated toinvestigations of field incidents, which includespulling, assessing and summarizing vehicle informationfrom CAN(Controller Area Network)logs, EDR(Event Data Recorder)data andother telemetry sourcestorespond toregulatory information requests. In addition, the individual willprovideinput for incident investigatorsin the fieldand provide feedback regarding collision performance to Engineering teams.
What You'll Do
- Assess field incidents for compliance withregulatoryreporting
- CompileCANlog, EDR andother telemetrydata for a given incident or incidents in order to meetinformation requests from regulatory authorities
- Provide input in discerning incident events, vehicle operation anddriver inputs based onthe compiled information as stated above
- Create data visualizations to communicateresults ofdataassessments
- Provide training and development forincident investigators in the field on vehicle logging and understanding logged values
- Provide summary reports in conjunction with incident investigatorsfor body, safety & restraints andAIteam for development input and continuous vehicle improvement
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or proof of exceptional skills in related fields, or equivalent experience
- At least 7 years ofvehicle forensic analysis experience, including analysis ofelectronicvehicledata(CAN and EDR),incident investigationandaccident reconstruction
- Demonstrated ability tomanagedatabases and multiple data streams
- Ability to quickly learn new technologiesand aptitude for understanding automotive vehicle systems
- A passion for Tesla's missionand problem solvingare a must
- Strong interpersonal and communication skillsrequired
- Strong written communication skills required

Expected Compensation
$64,000 - $150,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
