JOB TYPE Classification: Non Exempt Supervises Positions: JOB SUMMARYThe Wound Care Specialist Nurse is responsible for achieving standards of care, collaborating with physicians, managers, clinical coordinators, and other team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care in accordance with the current policies and procedures. Responsible for ongoing quality, productivity, and efficiency in Wound Ostomy Care Services. QUALIFICATIONS Education:4 Year/Bachelor's Degree required. BS or BSN required. Completion of Enterostomal Therapy program preferred. Experience:3 years of experience in clinical nursing required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure:Current RN licensure in applicable state required. Certification in wound/ostomy care within two years required. Additional Skills/Requirements Required:Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical Demand Code:Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.
