The Perkeybile Lab at the University of Virginia Department of Psychology invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. Our lab explores how life experiences interact with neuroendocrine systems to shape developmental trajectories in social engagement, brain function, and health across the lifespan. We use methods in complex social behavior measures, neuroendocrinology, neuroanatomy, and molecular genetics and epigenetics to investigate: (1) how early life care shapes developmental trajectories in social behavior and neuropeptide system organization and function, (2) how dyadic parenting interactions develop and change across time, and (3) how the experience of pregnancy and birth shape brain physiology and behavior in mothers and babies.
