JOB OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for ensuring the availability and accuracy of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals. This customer-facing position supports clinical staff by maintaining optimal inventory levels, responding to supply requests, and ensuring timely replenishment of critical items. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and committed to supporting patient care through efficient inventory practices KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals across clinical units.
- Respond promptly to supply requests from nursing and clinical staff, ensuring timely delivery and resolution.
- Conduct routine inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure data accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments, ensuring items meet quality and safety standards.
- Organize and label inventory in storage areas, supply rooms, and point-of-use locations.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to discuss supply needs based on patient volume and care requirements.
- Utilize inventory management systems (e.g., Pyxis, Omnicell, Lawson) to track stock levels and generate reports.
- Escalate supply shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate departments for resolution.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA).
- Support emergency preparedness by maintaining adequate stock of critical supplies.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare supply chain best practices.
- Experience with barcode scanning and automated dispensing systems.
- Detail oriented and accountable for making accurate decisions under set guidelines.
- Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments.
- Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code
- Familiarity with healthcare inventory systems and electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with clinical staff and vendors.
- Ability to lift and move medical supplies and equipment as needed.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: Typically 4 or more years of related experience. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Typically High School education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training. Bachelor's degree preferred. TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lift, carry or move products 0-10 lbs. frequently and 11-75 lbs. occasionally.
- Walk on concrete floors frequently.
- Gripping, pushing, pulling and fine hand manipulation frequently.
- Twist or bend torso frequently.
- Climb ladder occasionally.
- Handling tools continuously (Computer, RF Device, Utility Knife).
- Conditions: Continuous temperature-controlled building.
