About the role

The Agile Product Owner Lead is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading design and development delivery across complex Auto Finance platforms supporting Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS). This role owns the endtoend product backlog for one or more Agile teams, translating client requirements, contractual commitments, and enterprise strategy into executable solutions.

The role is primarily focused on projectbased design and development initiatives, with occasional involvement in production support to ensure continuity, issue resolution, and client satisfaction. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Product Owner Lead works closely with VWFS stakeholders, Release Management, other Product Owners, QA, and Development teams to deliver highquality, productionready solutions in a regulated financial services environment.

This role is recognized within FIS as a subjectmatter expert in Agile delivery for Auto Finance, with growth paths into Principal Product Owner or broader Product and Portfolio leadership roles.

What you will be doing

  • Lead design and development execution for VWFS Auto Finance projects, ensuring delivery aligns to client requirements, product strategy, and enterprise priorities.

  • Own and manage the Agile backlog, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for development.

  • Partner directly with VWFS business stakeholders to gather requirements and document Business Functional Requirements (BFRs).

  • Translate BFRs into wellstructured user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring clarity for Development and QA teams.

  • Work closely with Developers and QA throughout the sprint lifecycle to clarify requirements, support design decisions, and ensure quality outcomes.

  • Collaborate with Release Management to support release planning, sequencing, and readiness across multiple teams.

  • Coordinate with other Product Owners to manage crossteam dependencies and ensure consistent prioritization across VWFS initiatives.

  • Participate in production support activities as needed, including backlog triage, defect prioritization, and client communication.

  • Validate completed work against acceptance criteria and ensure solutions meet quality, regulatory, and productionreadiness standards prior to release.

  • Provide functional guidance and mentorship to Product Owners and Analysts, reinforcing consistent Agile and SAFe practices.

What you will need

  • Advanced experience as a Product Owner or Product Owner Lead in Agile or SAFe environments.

  • Strong experience working on design and development-focused projects, with exposure to production support models.

  • Proven ability to work directly with clients to gather requirements, write BFRs, and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering solutions within Auto Finance or financial services domains.

  • Strong collaboration skills across Release Management, Product, QA, and Development teams.

  • Ability to operate independently on complex, multiteam initiatives with significant business impact.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences.

  • 8+ years of experience in Product Ownership or related Agile delivery roles.

Bonus is you have

  • Auto Finance experience (ALS / AF platforms) strongly preferred.

  • Auto Servicing domain knowledge is a plus.
