Job Description Summary
The Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach Instructor is responsible for working with the Head Coach in all aspects of the respective sport. Must have an understanding of all pertinent NCAA rules governing the sport and an extensive understanding of the game of lacrosse. Must have a commitment to the Division III philosophy and be able to work within the philosophy and mission of the Athletic Department.
Essential Functions

  • Recruitment & Retention: Identify and recruit talented student-athletes who embody the university's values and have the potential to succeed academically and athletically.
  • Manage Lifeguard Staff and scheduling of the Nazareth Pool
  • Coaching & Development: Assist in planning and conducting team practices, providing individual and group instruction, and developing strategies.
  • Meet-Day Preparation: Support all aspects of meet operations, including scouting opponents, preparing plans, and managing equipment and logistics.
  • Team Management: Enforce team and school policies, ensuring student-athletes adhere to NCAA Division III, Empire Eight Conference (or applicable conference), and university regulations.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in fundraising, alumni relations, and community outreach activities to promote the program.

Required Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Prior coaching or playing experience at the collegiate level
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills; proficiency with technology used in recruiting and coaching
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/AED certification or equivalent

Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills

  • Master's Degree
  • 5+ years of coaching or playing experience at the collegiate level
  • Advanced knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; experience with video analysis software
  • American Red Cross Instructor Certification

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Overseeing coaching staff, student-athletes, and grad assistants


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, engage in active movement, and lift equipment related to the sport
