As a Human Resources Outsourcing (HRO) Supervisor at RSM, you will deliver hands-on HR support across a portfolio of clients while supervising the day-to-day work of HR Associates and Senior Associates. You will execute high-quality HR deliverables, serve as a first-line reviewer of deliverables, and help ensure compliance and operational excellence for small and mid-sized businesses. This role blends direct HR execution with team coordination and is ideal for an experienced HR professional ready to grow into broader engagement leadership.

Responsibilities

  • HR Delivery & Execution: Perform hands-on work and/or ensure accurate and timely HR delivery across the hire-to-retire lifecycle, including employee relations support, compliance reviews, policy and process documentation, onboarding/offboarding, and HRIS administration, while producing high-quality, client-ready deliverables.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the daily work of assigned HR Associates and Senior Associates, delegating tasks, balancing workloads, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Quality Review: Serve as the first-line reviewer of work product, checking for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to RSM methodology.
  • HR Advisory Support: Provide practical HR guidance on low to mid-level concerns, more complex employee relations, performance management, workplace investigation support, and compliance matters, escalating the most complex or higher-risk issues to the Manager.
  • Compliance & Assessments: Support and execute HR compliance assessments and process reviews, identifying gaps, documenting findings, and helping develop corrective action recommendations.
  • Process & Documentation: Build and maintain repeatable HR processes, playbooks, templates, and job aids that improve consistency and efficiency across clients.
  • Deliverable & Deadline Management: Track deliverables, timelines, and priorities across assigned workstreams; monitor utilization and flag capacity or timeline risks.
  • Coaching & Enablement: Mentor junior team members through day-to-day guidance, feedback, and knowledge sharing, helping strengthen team capability across HR domains and HRIS platforms.
  • Adaptability: Support clients and teams through change, shifting priorities, and ambiguous situations with a flexible, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Growth Contribution: Contribute to proposal development and support business development activities by demonstrating HR subject-matter expertise.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other related duties as assigned to support client engagements, the team, and the growth of the HRO practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification required.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a consulting, outsourcing, multi-client, or multi-unit environment, including at least 1 year coordinating, mentoring, or supervising other HR professionals.
  • Hands-on experience across multiple areas of the HR lifecycle, including employee relations, compliance, policy development, and HR operations.
  • Experience supporting multi-state employment, wage and hour, and leave compliance considerations.
  • Strong organizational and project-coordination skills; managing deadlines, tracking deliverables, and balancing competing priorities.
  • Experience as an HRIS user across one or more platforms, such as Rippling, ADP, Paychex, UKG, and Paylocity, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to changing client and business needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams and clients.
  • Travel up to 25% may be required based on client and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional HR or role related certifications, a plus.
  • Benefits administration experience or related certifications.
  • Exposure to managing work against deadlines and utilization targets across multiple concurrent assignments.

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $95,400 - $192,000

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
