The Opportunity You will take on a key role in advancing the performance and stability of modern power systems by managing a team responsible for delivering advanced Power Quality Solutions, including Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS). In this position, you will oversee a team of Project Lead Engineers who coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines-such as system design, electrical, mechanical, controls, and studies-to deliver complex EPC turnkey projects. Your work will directly support the integration of technologies that enhance transmission capacity, improve grid stability, and enable more flexible and resilient power networks. Operating in a global environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in alignment with contractual requirements. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of power transmission systems while strengthening your leadership capabilities, driving process improvements, and supporting the adoption of advanced power electronics technologies that are shaping the future of the grid. How You'll Make an Impact
Manage and support a team of Project Lead Engineers to deliver high-quality and cost-effective power quality solutions Oversee project execution to ensure alignment with schedule, cost, contract, safety, and quality requirements Coordinate engineering activities across disciplines including system design, electrical, mechanical, controls, and studies Collaborate with global teams and internal stakeholders to support project delivery and organizational objectives Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support strategic programs such as Scale-to-Potential and competency development efforts Guide project execution practices, ensure adherence to internal procedures, and support project closure in line with contractual commitments Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, serving as an escalation point for engineering challenges Promote and support a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across project teams Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience in leadership roles such as line management or project management
- 3-5 years of experience managing large EPC turnkey projects
- Experience working with HV substations or FACTS projects
- Knowledge of power electronic devices is an advantage
- PMP certification is an advantage
