We have an opportunity for a Production Planner to join our White Bear Township, MN team. You will Co-ordinate all aspects of production planning for a specific Value Stream (product family). Establishes and controls a sequenced production plan that results in level flow, timely product completions and customer satisfaction by applying Lean Principles in a specific Value Stream.

You will:

  • Establish daily, weekly production schedules using established tools.
  • Create, review and release work orders to shop cells and the warehouse in support of the sequenced schedule and monthly build plan.
  • Coordinate with other factory planners for the sequencing of work on shared assets.
  • Monitor inventory, parts deliveries, and parts shortages in relation to all planned orders for the value stream while managing raw material purchasing and coordination of deliveries.
  • Respond to customer service and sales inquiries and any changes relating to customer orders in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Attend assigned production tier meetings and support the operators of the value stream.
  • Support the site's transformation plan by identify and pursue continuous improvement A3 project initiatives across several groups in material/information flow systems/processes - utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools in addition to other available tools or processes.
  • Initiate root cause counter measure (RCCM) corrective action when required and keep supervisors and management informed of critical decisions and status changes. Work with team members to solve operational issues relating to materials, delivery, quality, and inventory.
  • Work with other members of the value stream team to achieve goals for customer on-time delivery (OTD), customer quality, customer service, sales, production delivery output, production capacity, inventory turns, days of supply (DOS) and other group goals as required.
  • Track and update production schedules, maintain shipment forecasts, expedite as required to prevent schedule slippage, and advise manager of deviations from production plans and forecasts.
  • Ensure continuous material flow of orders through manufacturing with emphasis on flow systems.
  • Ensure materials root cause countermeasure processes are complete to identify and provide solutions.
  • Lead, plan and organize procurement of products across multiple business units to ensure on time delivery of product to our customers and maximize the available capacity at the most effective total cost.
  • Design and implement short term and long-term business strategy plans that meet / exceed business inventory levels and supplier delivery performance targets.
  • Designing and implementing process improvements targeted at improved productivity, quality, safety, value engineering, cost, and efficiency of operations.
  • Ability to work and communicate internally across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead the SIOP process for assigned value stream.
  • Analyze forecast requirements and make recommendations for optimal material flow, storage and delivery. Monitor forecast against demand and usage quantities to identify issues and trends.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required and 5 years related manufacturing experience.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma, CPIM, CPM are a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Principles including PFEP and manufacturing processes.
  • Must possess the ability to influence people without direct authority.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks under pressure are required.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Technical skills in Lean Manufacturing Techniques, Kaizen, Process Improvement, freight and distribution, materials management, and production scheduling.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Builds high performance teams and is a strong team player.
  • Strong commitment to company values.
  • Experience with JDE or SAP strongly preferred.
  • Advanced experience with MS Excel and excellent computer proficiency.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $71000 - $131800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
