This role serves as a liaison between operations and maintenance and coordinates the production schedule and maintenance work to make sure the activity is conducted in an efficient and effective manner. All requests for work and work orders flow through this role. This role chooses the best time for work to be performed and works with maintenance and production to schedule the crew and/or any other needs. These duties may include getting equipment ready. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety.
- Ensures clearly defined, roles and responsibilities are communicated and reviewed annually to operations personnel for environmental, health & safety.
- Reviews and approves work requests, works closely with Maintenance Superintendent tracking cost to in an effort to stay within budget, and maintains work order backlog.
- Coordinates with appropriate organizations and outside vendors to ensure accurate information is available and documented as it relates to the performance of our assets.
- Coordinates with other supervisors, managers and employees at all levels to drive activities geared towards improving the reliability of our assets.
- Consults with Engineering on additions, deletions or modifications to our assets.
- Monitors and analyzes PM/PdM reports, work orders and technician feedback to optimize effective and efficient work planning and scheduling. Ensures PM/PdM activities are executed and documented.
- Coordinates mechanical and I&E maintenance activities. Also, coordinates PSV re-certifications and acts as the central point of contact for maintenance issues.
- Facilitates planning and scheduling sessions for mechanical and I&E work.
- Other duties to include, but not limited to the following:
- LDAR Coordinator - Ensure compliance to LDAR standards
- PSM Coordinator - Facilitates PSV re-certifications and TVE inspections
- Outage Coordinator - Liaison between Maintenance and Operations groups to plan and schedule work
- Review and approve all emergency and urgent notifications occurring during normal working hours and after hours.
- Approve and communicate break-ins to planner and maintenance supervisor. Negotiate necessary schedule changes with relevant groups.
- Prioritize notifications for planning priority list to ensure highest priority/value jobs are planned in a timely manner.
- Review notification and non-scheduled work order backlogs to determine if jobs still add value. Adjust as needed.
- Provide necessary input to planning for jobs requiring MOC, cost approvals or changes.
- Owns weekly schedule.
- Manages schedule backlogs.
- Approve expediting and overtime requirements to ensure jobs will be completed in time to meet the needs of the plant.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the operation of a chemical facility; Maintenance experience preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role or equivalent position is preferred
- Technical Experience developed from work experience
- Computer competency in spreadsheets and word processing
- Good disciplinary standing
- Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership traits, good cooperation and participation, strong written and verbal communication skills, exhibit positive/optimistic attitudes, possess a desire for continuous improvement, provide mentoring/training, etc.
- Good understanding of complex processing requirements of chemical plants, especially assigned unit.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, climb, squat and bend. Must be able to use hands to reach, grasp, touch, handle, or feel. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is high. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which requires usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs.
