Job Title: Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Representative

Location: Madison, WI

Company: I-State Truck Center

I-State Truck Center is seeking a motivated Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Representative with experience in Western Star trucks. This role focuses on building customer relationships, identifying needs, and driving sales through product expertise and exceptional service.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Engagement



  • Engage new and existing customers to recommend Western Star truck solutions
  • Conduct demos, presentations, and test drives
  • Build relationships with fleet managers, owner-operators, and industry clients
  • Negotiate pricing, financing, and trade-ins to close deals


Product Expertise



  • Maintain strong knowledge of Western Star models, specs, and applications
  • Stay current on industry trends and competitors
  • Educate customers on performance, durability, and efficiency benefits


Sales Strategy



  • Meet or exceed sales targets
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, and industry events
  • Partner with leadership on growth and market share strategies


Operations & Follow-Up



  • Track activity and pipeline in CRM
  • Coordinate with parts and service teams for delivery and customization
  • Provide post-sale follow-up to ensure satisfaction and repeat business


Qualifications

Experience



  • 2-3+ years in truck, automotive, or related sales
  • Proven ability to meet sales goals
  • Western Star experience preferred


Skills



  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to explain technical specs, financing, and warranties
  • CRM and Microsoft Office proficiency


Education & Licensing



  • High school diploma required; degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Flexible schedule (evenings/weekends as needed)


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform truck walkarounds and test drives
  • Occasional travel
