TITLE: Senior Network Engineer

LOCATION: Remote must reside within a commutable distance to Alsip, IL

COMP RANGE: $135,000 to $175,000 per year

There is potential for a discretionary bonus, with a target of 18%. This bonus is based on personal & company performance and is not a guaranteed bonus plan.

Griffith Foods is hiring a Senior Network Engineer. The Senior Network Engineer position is responsible for design, administration and support of the Griffith LAN/WAN environment with a primary focus on Palo Alto Networks firewall and security platforms. This role leads the architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of next-generation firewall solutions across datacenters, branch locations, and cloud environments.

This role will also maintain and support the organizations Cisco based routing, switching, and WAN infrastructure. Provides direct technical support for all requirements in the planning, coordination, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to network, and the range of products and productivity tools that support the testing and production environments relating to network computing.

As a Senior Network Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Palo Alto Networks NGFW solutions across Griffith global network.
  • Architect and manage Panorama centralized management, including templates, device groups, and policy hierarchy.
  • Serve as final escalation point for Cisco routing/switching and Palo Alto firewall issues.
  • Develop and enforce network security standards, segmentation, and high-availability strategies.
  • Manage and optimize voice and collaboration platforms (Cisco Voice, SIP trunking).
  • Oversee network performance monitoring, automation, and alerting systems.
  • Lead or contribute to network modernization and cloud integration projects (Azure).
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Develop project plans and provide time estimates on related project work. Communicate status of projects.
  • Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and compliance with SLAs.
  • Recommend purchase of products or services necessary to support the test and production operating environments.
  • Provide business and technical consultation and support to users and other global technical units

The Senior Network Engineer position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Have strong experience in Palo Alto firewall platforms including a background in network design, high availability, security, and voice integration.
  • Possess good technical writing and communication skills to create and update design documents.
  • Have hands-on experience with monitoring tools, automation (Python, Ansible), and cloud networking.
  • Enjoy successfully managing projects, from design through implementation and documentation.
  • Have a talent for analyzing and assessing network architecture requirements and determine optimum, cost-effective solutions.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year university or 8+ years of enterprise networking experience, including advanced Cisco routing/switching and Palo Alto firewall management.
  • Advanced experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting LAN's, WAN's, Firewalls & Wireless networks.
  • IOS software: Proficiency in advanced switch/router setup, IP design and functionality, cabling infrastructure, network traffic troubleshooting, Cisco IOS and IOS related devices.
  • Palo Alto Firewall: proficiency in configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Palo Alto Firewalls as well as utilizing to segment internal traffic
  • Palo Alto Panorama
  • Microsoft Azure Networking Solutions
  • Cisco Wireless Solutions
  • Cisco Catalyst SDWAN
  • In depth experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
  • Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the
    United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
