Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. P roject Architect in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will collaborate with other senior staff to mentor, inspire and guide our team of talented Architects, deliver exceptional design projects, and grow the practice through developing client relationships and lead business development opportunities within our current and potential market sectors.

What You'll Do:


  • Create, manage and produce projects primarily for the booming advanced technology market sector. Additional market sectors with opportunities to support include: industrial, municipal, higher education, and other institutional and commercial clients.
  • Provide the primary designer and leadership roles to our multi-disciplinary teams on projects throughout all stages, from concept to delivery.
  • Developing and reviewing proposals, reports and contract documents.
  • Leads and participates in project documentation development and the production of deliverable drawings and specifications.
  • Accountable for effective project coordination efforts among internal disciplines and with external consultants.
  • Communicates with clients related to project technical matters.
  • Oversees project regulatory reviews (building code, accessibility, zoning) and coordination with, and submission to, authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Ensures effective and safe team performance of construction contract administration responsibilities.
  • Contributes to project marketing pursuits, proposal preparation and interviews.
  • Demonstrates strong and effective communication, decision making and collaboration, which inspires high team performance.
  • Mentors staff and provides oversight of assignments.



What You'll Need:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, required; Masters preferred, from a NAAB accredited university
  • Registered Architect in Arizona, NCARB preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in architectural design and planning of facilities within core markets
  • Detailed understanding of construction techniques and the development of final construction documents.
  • Demonstrated experience developing project specifications.
  • Demonstrated project management and supervisory experience.

  • Experience working in Advanced Manufacturing or Semiconductor market sectors
  • Proficient with Revit
  • Demonstrated experience with cross-discipline collaboration.
  • Demonstrated design insight and leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, coordination, leadership, team-building skills.
  • Proven success in developing new clients and maintaining strong client relationships.
