Position Summary:

The Landscape Designer II role requires an individual dedicated to collaboration, critical thinking, professional-growth, and developing great design solutions that shape innovative outdoor environments. The position is intended for an early-career Landscape Architect capable of excelling in a hybrid work environment engaged with multiple project teams. The position supports design initiatives, collaborates with design teams of architects, interior designers, engineers, planners, and building science professionals across market sectors and all project phases from conception through construction. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in site design and play a leading role in integrating open spaces into their architectural and social context. This role provides opportunities for and expects growth in design and technical skills. Proven experience and proficiency in landscape architecture is required with the ability to work with moderate to minimal supervision, which may include guiding and mentoring less experienced team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to the development of design concepts that respond to project goals across a variety of market sectors and projects across the country
  • Participate in collaborative design workshops with team members and sector leadership
  • Research and apply relevant codes, zoning regulations, and submittal requirements to support project compliance
  • Assist in the preparation of construction drawings and documents for permitting and bidding
  • Develop planting and hardscape plans and details that respond to project goals and context
  • Conduct research on materials and products to inform design solutions
  • Prepare clear, compelling graphics, drawings, and 3D representations for presentations and project deliverables
  • Support an integrated design process by collaborating with multiple disciplines and project participants
  • Assist in master planning and site planning exercises
  • Participate in efforts to improve team efficiency, workflows, and overall project quality
  • Utilize digital design tools including generative and automation technologies to support planning, design iterations, and integration into Revit models

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture required
  • Pursuit of licensure preferred
  • LEED Accreditation or other sustainability credential preferred
  • 3 years minimum of professional experience in the Landscape Architecture industry with proven ability to support project design across a range of scales, complexities, and typologies
  • Strong planning, design, and graphic skills with a comprehensive understanding of interdisciplinary coordination requirements
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Land F/X, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam required
  • Proficiency in Revit strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of BIM, Revizto, Miro, Rhino and other graphics programs preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, in English
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, collaborate effectively, and contribute to team growth and mentorship
  • Commitment to an integrated design process working in an interdisciplinary environment that includes HED engineers, architects, and outside consultants
  • Commitment to principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in design and workplace practice

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally via phone, video conferencing, and in-person
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities
  • Ability to travel to and from project sites to attend client, project, and construction meetings
  • Ability to access and navigate existing and new project sites for observation, investigation, and evaluation
