The Medical College of Wisconsin's Division of Cardiology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant toprovide specialty medical care in Interventional Cardiology within the Inpatient) setting.

This position is located at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. TheAdvanced Practice Provider(APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.This APP will provide a broad range of diagnostic & therapeutic services for patients of the inpatient service.

Position Highlights:
  • Provide exceptional & compassionate care to hospital patients

  • See inpatient consults

  • Develop treatment plans, and monitor effectiveness of plan of care

  • Educate patients on disease & treatment plans

  • Provide inpatient support for valve patients in the ICU and Cardiology floor

  • Order, perform, and interpret screening & diagnostic procedures & tests, and communicate & document information

  • Document within the EMR

  • Educate, counsel, and assist patients & families regarding current health issues, health maintenance activities, and preventive behaviors

Schedule:
  • Full time, 1.0 fte

  • Hours may vary, and will range from Monday - Friday, 7 am - 4 pm, with occasional additional hours based on clinical needs. Requires flexibility to work evening &/or weekend hours in the future based on business needs.

Qualifications: Highly Preferred:
  • A minimum of 4 years of clinical practice (inpatient & outpatient) experience in cardiovascular medicine, cardiovascular medicine sub-specialty, or cardiac surgery. Preference will be given to candidates with core background in cardiovascular care and ICU care with extensive clinical experience

  • Acute Care NP certification; will consider certification as AGPCNP or FNP

Minimum Education:
  • Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.

  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.

Minimum Requirements: Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
  • Wisconsin RN License

  • Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License

  • Certification Requirements:

  • Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization

  • BLS

  • ACLS

  • CITI Certification to be completed within 90 days of hire

Physician Assistant
  • Wisconsin Physician Assistant License

  • Certification Requirements:

  • Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

  • BLS

  • ACLS
