We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, Client Operations - Corporate Trust and Custody Services to join our Corporate Trust team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Own the end-to-end Trade processing until settlement, including task allocation, controls, quality, and risk management
- Act as the primary point of contact for process queries, client escalations, and senior stakeholder communication
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned institutional clients, managing day-to-day custody deal servicing and query resolution
- Process, review, and monitor wire payments and cash movements, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
- Interpret, generate, and troubleshoot SWIFT messages (MT/MX formats, including MT540-MT548, MT202/MT103) related to trade settlement and cash/securities movements
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely trade settlement, monitoring cash and par (position) break performance and driving resolution of outstanding breaks
- Support bond market settlement activities, including trade matching, fails management, and coupon/redemption processing
- Coordinate with the internal tax team and clients to ensure all portfolios are fully tax documented and compliant
- Coordinate between clients and internal operations teams to research, track, and resolve all client queries within SLA
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, counterparties, and correspondent banks
- Prepare client reporting, respond to inquiries, and escalate issues appropriately to ensure SLA adherence
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation/efficiency initiatives
- Ensure all activities comply with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit standards
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field required.
- Advanced degree or professional certifications in finance or business administration preferred.
- Typically 5-6 years of experience in corporate trust or related field within financial services.
- Preferred working knowledge of wire payment processing (domestic and cross-border)
- Good understanding of SWIFT messaging standards (MT/MX message types used in payments and securities settlement)
- Hands-on experience with bond market settlement processes (fixed income trade lifecycle, corporate actions, fails/claims)
- Practical exposure to syndicate loan operations (drawdowns, rollovers, agency servicing)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to manage client relationships professionally
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook); familiarity with custody/settlement platforms is a plus
