Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Night ShiftProduction Supervisor to work from our 900 High Street manufacturing facility in Hanover, PA. This position is responsible to assist with and have knowledge of multiple skill sets within packaging, processing, coordination, and sanitation processes. Applicants that have interpersonal and supervisory skills, as well as strong public speaking and presentation skills are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of packaging machinery, fryer machines, processing operations, and fluency in English and Spanish is preferred. The ability to obtain and maintain Forklift, Hi-Reach and Chemical Certifications is required. This position will work primarily Monday thru Thursday 5:40PM to 5:40AM. The candidate must remain flexible and willing to work to meet peak volumes of production. This is an exempt position reporting directly to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities:



  • Supervises assigned pod consisting of Packers, Machine Operators, Fryers and/or seasoners.
  • Involved in department interviewing, training and evaluation of department members.
  • Monitors and analyzes labor hours and crew size needed to efficiently run production lines.
  • Assists Plant Project Coordinator and Production Managers in month end inventory counting.
  • Ensures production of quality product by ensuring all processing and packaging standards are upheld.
  • Integral to executing and monitoring tasks to maintain data integrity/accuracy in ERP data system.
  • Works with production planning and other departments to ensure production attainment and adherence goals are achieved.
  • Develops and implements methods of achieving plant performance and efficiency to meet plant and corporate goals.
  • Analyzes and assesses line level performance, seek out and drive process improvements, identify and reduce waste.
  • Manages material usage and waste on assigned lines to support cost initiatives.
  • Uses EAM to enter work orders and track preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Monitors and analyzes RedZone for packaging and fryer efficiencies, quality checks, and downtime.
  • Supports and sustains Integrated Work Systems in the plant to include maintaining and communicating line level KPIs and performance standards.
  • Responsible for the safety performance of assigned team while supporting the culture of safety and health through active engagement with employees and the maintenance of a safe work environment.
  • Follows and enforces all GMP and food safety practices and all applicable requirements of the SQF system.
  • Follows instructions and training for reporting and escalating food safety problems to appropriate personnel
  • Performs other duties as assigned that impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives.


Requirements:



  • Requires analytical, math and reading skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (Email)
  • Requires leadership and management to direct the packaging departments and interface with
    other departments.
  • Interpersonal and supervisory skills necessary to lead others.
  • Knowledge of designated packaging and processing operations to assist when needed.
  • Moderate lifting and occasional skid pulling.
  • Knowledge of packaging machinery preferred.
  • Additional post high school education preferred, not required
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills required
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred
