- The client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help drive the adoption and integration of standardized asset exchange workflows across studio production environments.
- This role will focus on building tools and pipelines that enable creative teams to package, validate, and deliver digital assets in a specification-conformant format that supports reuse across multiple production contexts.
- The role also provides technical guidance on asset exchange standards and interoperability, acting as a key resource for studio teams navigating interoperability and new workflows for downstream asset delivery.
- The ideal candidate combines specialized experience in VFX, Real-time and CG production pipelines with strong software engineering expertise, and is passionate about improving interoperability between tools, teams, and studios to directly impact production efficiency and asset delivery timelines for downstream experiences across multiple studio banners.
- You will collaborate closely with artists, technical directors, and engineering teams to ensure asset readiness, improve pipeline reliability, and help shape the evolution of shared standards for digital content exchange.
- This role sits at the intersection of pipeline engineering, real-time graphics, and cross-studio collaboration, and plays a key part in enabling scalable asset workflows for film, episodic, and interactive production.

What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain pipeline tools and services that package, validate, and deliver digital assets in compliance with established asset exchange specifications, ensuring assets are portable, production-ready, and reusable across tools and environments.
- Collaborate closely with artists, technical directors, pipeline engineers, and engineering teams to integrate specification-conformant workflows into active production pipelines and ensure asset readiness for downstream use.
- Solve complex, cross-cutting asset pipeline challenges spanning multiple production tools, studio environments, content formats, and rendering contexts.
- Research, prototype, and evaluate improvements to asset packaging, validation, and delivery workflows, emphasizing real-time reuse, downstream interoperability, and production efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance in areas such as real-time rendering, materials and shader pipelines, and engine integration, helping teams align workflows across legacy and modern production contexts.
- Develop validation, diagnostic, and quality-checking tools that ensure specification conformance, asset quality, and predictable behavior across platforms and consumers.
- Champion interoperable, specification-conformant approaches, building alignment and consensus across studio banners with differing technical requirements and production priorities.
- Partner with cross-studio stakeholders, internal engineering teams, and external vendors to enable consistent asset exchange workflows and improve interoperability across the studio ecosystem.
- Analyze production challenges, partner feedback, and workflow pain points to inform best practices and contribute to the ongoing evolution of asset exchange standards and pipeline processes.
- Produce and review technical documentation, reference implementations, example assets, and code, and provide technical guidance and code reviews to help teams adopt standardized workflows effectively.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor on asset exchange standards and interoperable workflows, presenting best practices and solutions to internal teams and external partners.
- Stay current with industry trends, open standards, and emerging approaches in digital asset exchange, real-time pipelines, and content interoperability.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or Software Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience with VFX, animation, or CG production pipelines.
- 7+ years of experience working with modern real-time graphics technologies.
What Sets You Apart:
- Experience working with Unreal Engine in a production pipeline context, familiarity with real-time asset workflows and cross-platform content reuse.
- Experience developing tools that support interoperable asset exchange across multiple DCC applications.
- Experience presenting technical work to cross-functional audiences or external partners.
- Background working with cross-studio standards initiatives or open industry ecosystems.
- Strong software engineering skills with experience developing production pipeline tools.
- Strong working knowledge of USD (Universal Scene Description)
- Self-directed in identifying opportunities, prioritizing work, and delivering solutions with limited oversight
- Strong proficiency in C++
- Strong understanding of asset structures, scene description systems, and content packaging workflows used in film and interactive production.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both creative and technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts across disciplines.
