Overview

Saiia Construction is hiring a Sr. HR Business Partner to serve as the primary HR leader for the business, based onsite in our Birmingham, AL office. Reporting to a Regional HR Director, this role leads a small HR team and partners closely with leaders across the organization to support continued growth, geographic expansion, and operational scale.

As a trusted advisor, the Sr. HRBP operates at both a strategic and hands-on level, driving workforce strategy, talent initiatives, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and change management in a field-driven, high-growth environment. This role anticipates HR needs and delivers integrated solutions that align with business priorities and operational demands.

The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen and a deep understanding of the business's financial performance, growth plans, culture, and competitive landscape, ensuring HR strategies directly support business outcomes while strengthening leadership capability and team performance.

Responsibilities

    Collaborate closely with leaders to develop talent strategies and forecast strategic resources.
  • Partner with business leaders to shape and oversee HR strategies, programs, and initiatives aligned with the goals of the renewables market sector.
  • Establish strong relationships with senior management throughout the sector to understand their needs and offer improvements related to workforce planning, processes, culture, and HR matters.
  • Manage and oversee a performance appraisal system that encourages high performance.
  • Provide management with HR metrics and decision support. Offer guidance, advice, and training to managers and employees on employee relations, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise leadership on disciplinary actions for misconduct, performance issues, or serious policy violations.
  • Lead change initiatives by working with leaders to plan, implement, and communicate necessary changes involving employees.
  • Collaborate with the Total Rewards team on promotions and pay adjustments to ensure pay equity.
  • Support Preconstruction and Project Management teams during the preconstruction phase by helping gather information and fostering collaboration for project success. After the project award, review contracts and relevant laws to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with Project Management and recruiters to develop and communicate compliance plans. Encourage leaders to focus on attracting top talent and differentiating employee development.
  • Stay informed about Labor Relation Policy and Union Activity Guidelines to advise managers and escalate issues as needed.
  • Maintain current HR and industry knowledge to improve organizational efficiency and ensure legal compliance.
  • Coach and educate management on HR policies, procedures, compensation, benefits, employee discipline, and relevant laws, ensuring fair treatment of employees. Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of Five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
