the forefront of Microsoft's Cloud-first strategy. We are looking for a talented and motivated

individual to help shape the future of our cloud products.

The team's charter is to optimize our investments in cloud infrastructure while driving down

unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth.

We are recruiting a Senior Finance Manager in Azure CoreAI finance Margin Strategy team to

partner closely with engineering and PM teams of Azure Foundry Tools, Azure AI Search and

Azure Responsible AI to identify and execute infrastructure efficiency opportunities that drive

lower unit costs for delivering cloud solutions. This work will enable competitive Azure

pricing, support continued market share growth, and drive sustained improvement in product

margins. The role also partners with planning teams across revenue, datacenter operations,

hardware roadmap, and GPU demand and capacity management to optimize total cost of

ownership end to end. It's an unique opportunity that directly shapes forward looking cloud

investment decisions and builds strong cross functional collaboration to land meaningful

impact.



Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end margin strategy for Azure Foundry Tools, Azure AI Search and Azure.
  • Translate product and engineering decisions into financial outcomes, building clear linkagebetween usage, efficiency levers, and P&L impact.
  • Lead demand, cost, and capacity modeling (e.g., GPU, infra, utilization) to inform pricing,investment, and scaling decisions.
  • Drive efficiency roadmap across model architecture, infra utilization, and operating points;quantify and track impact vs. targets.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to embed marginaccountability into roadmap and prioritization.
  • Influence pricing and monetization strategy, including rate setting, cost recovery, andtrade-offs between growth and profitability.
  • Deliver executive-ready insights (MBRs, reviews, ad hoc deep dives) with clear narratives ondrivers, risks, and actions.
  • Establish governance and operating cadence to track margin performance, ensureaccountability, and accelerate decision-making.


Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detailed oriented, with proven ability to summarize analysis to drive broader business context and insight.
  • Comfortable handling ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at fast pace.
  • Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritize as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships, fostering collaboration and inclusivity across teams.
  • Ability to synthesize complex analyses and deliver clear, actionable insights to senior leaders and business partners.


Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
