DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on planning and guiding recreation programs that support positive use of inmate leisure time. As a Corrections Activities Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Leadership: Lead a variety of structured activities, sports, and wellness programs
- Instruction Delivery: Provide coaching, guidance, and instruction to individuals and groups
- Program Evaluation: Assess inmate interests and review program effectiveness to recommend improvements
- Facility Oversight: Oversee the setup, care, and use of recreation areas and equipment
- Record Management: Maintain program records and prepare reports in line with agency standards
- Resource Coordination: Assist with supply requests and guide volunteers who support program activities

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
