What to Expect
Tesla is looking for highly motivated laboratoryleadtechnicians tooverseeroutine quality testing and support failure analysis processes for our cutting-edge Tesla battery cell manufacturing program. In this role you would work closely with lab managementdrive highstandards of safety, quality, and outputon your shift. The work environment isdemanding, fast-paced and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits, as they joininhighly motivated and capable team.
What You'll Do
- Lead & coordinate incoming lab activities including properly assigning priorities and allocating resources
- Act as the first point of contact for critical analytical lab testing, escalations,vendor visits,and newmethodroll outswhen supervisor is unavailable
- Oversee & train new techsona variety of routine testing on battery cells and associated materials following established procedures includingchemicalanalysisof raw materials such as:electrolyte compositionby IC,GCand NMR;acid/base titration; conductivity; density;moisture contentby Karl Fischer;powder rheology;particle size distribution;thermogravimetric analysis; SEM/EDS analysis; mechanical parts cleanliness; BET; ICP;andFTIR
- Interpret test data and generate laboratory test reports
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required
- Enforce 5S and workplace hygiene standards
- Lead standard verification testing on tools & instruments
- Support the Company's mission, vision, values and goals in performance of daily activities
What You'll Bring
- 1+ year of Tesla analytical lab technician experience
- High proficiency in Tesla analytical lab test methodsincludingpowder rheometer,KF moisture analyzers, GC, IC, NMR,ICP,acid-basetitrators, SEM,TGA,mechanical parts cleanliness,and FTIR
- Natural leader, can motivate and drive a team to hit KPI's and objectives
- Detailoriented,excels at performing repetitive tasks where both high degrees of accuracy and precision are required with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Bachelor's degreepreferredin a relevant science (e.g. Chemistry, Metallurgy), or equivalent experience
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:
- Be both capable and willing to perform all the various manual tasks involved with lab work, such as safely moving heavy objects upto 30lbs., moving large pallets with a pallet jack, handling incoming materials
- Comfortable working with chemicals and hazardous materials in a laboratory environment
