LPN Unit Manager
Full-time Rate: $36.00 - 48.32 an hour
Job Description:
The Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing nursing services and social programming for all residents on their assigned unit on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. This role involves communication with physicians, families, co-workers, and other healthcare professionals, as well as managing and evaluating nursing staff performance, hiring, and staff termination when necessary. The Unit Manager is accountable for nursing care reporting, documentation, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure the highest quality of resident care.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate residents' nursing care plans.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary goals and approaches to address residents' healthcare needs and concerns.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized unit environment for residents and staff.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance.
- Participate in staff hiring, orientation, disciplinary actions, and termination processes.
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and in-service education programs as directed by the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
- Generate and implement ideas that improve quality of care, productivity, and employee satisfaction.
- Encourage teamwork and recognize staff members for exceptional contributions and performance.
- Ensure accurate nursing documentation and compliance with facility policies and regulations.

Qualifications
- Possession of a state license in applicable state you are performing work and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience and at least one (1) year of experience in a nursing leadership role
- Interest or experience in geriatrics
- Current BLS/CPR
- Experience with dementia population desirable
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
