Position Summary

Job Summary:

Responsible for carrying out requirements developed by Manufacturing Engineering to help support manufacturing processes and equipment including maintaining tools, fixtures and special equipment, performing prove in machine runs, and assisting with general production requests to achieve required production rates and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

  • Perform basic maintenance on CNC equipment
  • Coordinate critical maintenance to CNC equipment
  • Develop and edit new/existing CNC programs
  • Perform prove-in test runs of new/existing CNC programs
  • Evaluate processes for cycle time/quality improvement
  • Execute on work instructions and report findings of process improvement
  • Conduct tests and collect data to analyze for process improvements
  • Develop / Maintain tooling and fixturing inventory
  • Create POKE YOKE fixtures for manufacturing floor
  • Setup and implement machines/equipment to specification
  • Calculate or record results during experiments designed by Mfg Engineer
  • Perform functions in MSS database
  • Assist engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes
  • Assist HPT as they create, modify, and test products and processes
  • Create process flow diagrams
  • Assist in PFMEA & PCP development

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associates Degree in Precision Machining or equivalent certificate preferred
  • 6 Sigma Green Belt, preferred

Mathematical Skills

  • Have a good understanding of basic math, trigonometry, and geometry.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code for CNC machines
  • Knowledgeable in Computer-Aided Design software - AutoCAD or Solidworks
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) EdgeCam
  • Background in machining with MAZAK lathes and mills (4 and 5 axis, single/dual spindle)
  • Knowledgeable in continuous improvement/problem solving methodology

Requires frequent standing. Frequent lifting up to 20 pounds. Good dexterity and attention to detail through visual inspection.

Job requires employee to work with coolants; medium noise level; some dust exposure when grinding or deburring material.
