Position Summary
The Site Smart Manufacturing Lead will strategically and operationally drive the digital transformation through delivery of SM solutions at the site to build targeted digital maturity that will help the site to deliver current business objectives and maximize site performance potential.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Understand site and network business priorities and identify performance improvement opportunities, with a balance of near-term impact delivery and long term transformation.
  • Understand current digital maturity at site and lead self-assessments to identify capability gaps. Set digital maturity targets that align with GSK global targets, business benefit and site performance opportunities.
  • Identify value streams and processes that offer the greatest potential return through digital transformation.
  • Maintain awareness of global SM solutions and support deployment of standard solutions in partnership with global teams.
  • Develop site SM master plans to plan multi-year delivery of digital capability in alignment with site business needs and global deployment plans. Develop pathway to impact KPIs and financial metrics. Track and report in local and global governance, the SM plan delivery at site.
  • Create and manage site SM resource plans to meet delivery requirements. * Work closely with site automation, technology and GPS teams to help ensure alignment of SM ambition with overall objectives and to accelerate value delivery.
  • Build a SM culture and mindset at the site to help accelerate the translation of data to value and drive simplification of operations.
  • Own and drive the stakeholder engagement process at site including leader immersion, communications plans and knowledge transfer.
  • Develop SM skill sets across site to help colleagues to grow as the site climbs the digital maturity curve. Build training plans to support the integration and embedding of SM changes into business processes, systems, and teams at site.
  • Ensure site readiness for SM related audits and act as site SM representative.
  • Be an advocate for the power of digital transformation and a champion for SM at site and for GSK.
  • Role modelling GSK Behaviors with an enterprise mindset working across GSC and leading by example, working successfully and inclusively with different cultures.
  • Creating a supportive atmosphere in which to provide coaching, feedback and support to core and extended team members

Why You?

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • BS/BA in engineering, computer science, or equivalent technical discipline
  • 10 years of automation or digital operations experience with at least 8 years in a manufacturing or life sciences environment.
  • 4 years of directly or indirectly managing a technical staff and remit related to automation or digital project management and implementation.

Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex cross functional transformation initiatives within a previous role.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and delivering capability and training programs in a digital or technology related discipline.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to interact, influence, and manage multiple and varied business contacts, both internal and external, often with different requirements and goals.
  • Strong understanding of business drivers, objectives and challenges. Proven financial acumen from business case creation to results delivery.
  • Experience of working in different cultures to collaborate and build relationships.
  • Proven Leadership, change management and people skills
  • Accountability mindset
