STATUS: Contingent

DESCRIPTION: PE is seeking candidates for a Nuclear Stockpile Stewardship subject matter expert (Management - Regulatory Affairs / Compliance) position providing subject matter expertise and analytical support for the management of the U.S. nuclear stockpile. This requires conducting in-depth analysis of stockpile sustainment issues, managing staff coordination processes, and supporting AF/A10XC engagement in relevant DoD, DoE, and interagency forums.

Primary duties will include (but not limited to):



  • Conduct research and analysis on nuclear stockpile sustainment issues. Synthesize information from stakeholders to develop formal policy positions, recommendations, and analytical products for government consideration. Deliverables: Research, point, white, and decision papers; Formal briefings detailing analytical findings; Draft testimony and articles for publication for government use.
  • Serve as the focal point for coordinating all nuclear stockpile-related staff packages. Review and provide formal comments on a broad array of sustainment-related documents from internal and external organizations. Deliverables: Completed staff packages prepared in the standard AF format; Comment Resolution Matrixes (CRMs) for all reviewed documents.
  • Attend and participate in designated nuclear stockpile-related technical discussions, meetings, wargames, and interagency forums. Analyze all exchanged information to identify impacts on AF/A10XC equities. Deliverable: Post-Forum Analysis Reports detailing findings, impacts, and recommended courses of action.
  • Document and organize current and historical data related to nuclear stockpile activities to maintain programmatic continuity. Deliverable: An organized and accessible electronic and/or physical archive of programmatic decisions and supporting material.



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:



  • Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear stockpile stewardship requirements across National, DoD, Joint, and Service levels.
  • Demonstrated experience working and coordinating with DoD and non-DoD offices on nuclear enterprise matters.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:



  • Master's degree with 8+ years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience OR associate's degree and 13+ years of experience OR High School diploma and 16+ years of experience.
  • Experience coordinating with DoD and non-DoD organizations involved in the nuclear enterprise, including nuclear weapons systems and stockpile management.

This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: reaching, sifting, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. Occasionally lifts to 20 lbs.

Requires adaptability, analyzing, assessing, calculating, decision making, dependability, good judgment, reading, memorizing, social skills, speaking, stress control and writing. Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information; Ability to apply common sense in performing job.

Travel could be required in support of inventory/security audits.
