JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President (VP), Data Science & Analytics (DSA) is responsible for driving and supporting operational activities for Data Management Biostatics, Statistical Programming, and Technical Programming, including but not limited to staffing, staff development/training, department financial oversight, policy and procedure development/maintenance, as well as business development support. The position requires both strategic and tactical capabilities, excellence in business processes, and innovation in problem-solving and business growth initiatives. The VP, DSA will lead, support, and/or participate in company-level, global, and/or cross-functional initiatives as required. This individual is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of DSA activities sponsored by pharmaceutical, biotech, and device companies. This incumbent has many direct reports within global reach and serves as part of the leadership/management team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Oversee all aspects of DSA departments, including resource planning, deliverables, colleague training, performance, and salary reviews.
  • Execute strategy for continuing cross-departmental collaboration and company growth and provide hands-on leadership to create a results-oriented, client-focused, team environment.
  • Initiate, lead, and develop strategic business growth initiatives, technology solutions, and process improvements that create efficiency and company growth.
  • Attend capability and defense presentations with clients to support the development of new business.
  • Attend proposal strategy meetings and approve Sponsor proposals and budgets.
  • Prepare DSA department's annual budgets.
  • P&L oversight of the functional areas within DSA.
  • Accountable for the project deliverables within DSA and related customer satisfaction.
  • Develop DSA departmental SOPs and ensure colleagues adhere to company policies, SOPs, and federal regulations.
  • Work closely with Operations Quality and Compliance and Quality to ensure quality and continuous process improvement.
  • Assist as requested in strategic company initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.


QUALIFICATIONS



  • The ideal candidate should have an advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in a healthcare or scientific discipline with a minimum of 12 years of clinical research experience in a CRO, including 10 years of management experience in Data Management and/or Biostatistics. departmental and study budgets, analyzing reports, resource utilization, profitability, etc.
  • Experience building teams, processes, and systems, and managing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, project, and personnel management
    skills and organizational skills are required.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 12 years of clinical research experience in a CRO, including 10 years of
      management experience in Data Management and/or Biostatistics.
    • Strong understanding of analytical methodologies, statistical techniques and data
      modeling.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience in engaging and
      influencing stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong cross-functional communication skills with various departments, including, but
      not limited to Program Delivery, Strategy & Optimization, Study Start-Up, Regulatory, Clinical Monitoring, Medical Writing, Safety, and Medical Monitoring to identify analytical needs and deliver tailored solutions.
    • Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels of
      the organization.
    • Experience in developing data governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with
      data regulations.
    • Experience building teams, processes and systems and managing departmental and

      skills and organizational skills are required.
