ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Plant Manager supports the daily operations of the precast manufacturing facility with a focus on total Precast operations. This role assists in coordinating manufacturing activities, ensuring production quality, scheduling to meet the needs of customers, and safety compliance. The Assistant Plant Manager acts as a key liaison between departments, helps enforce standards, and drives continuous improvement in plant performance and workforce development.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Assist Plant Manager with scheduling, staffing, and coordination of plant operations
  • Plan and sequence precast panel production to meet project schedules and quality standards
  • Track daily production records and monitor progress against delivery timelines
  • Collaborate with QC, Engineering, and Project Managers to resolve production issues
  • Adjust production schedules based on jobsite needs and operational changes
  • Support training, onboarding, and development of hourly workforce
  • Promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with safety programs and special projects as assigned



WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a hands-on manufacturing leader who can support daily plant operations while helping drive safety, quality, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicative, and experienced in coordinating teams, schedules, and workflows in a fast-paced precast environment. They bring strong leadership skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure successful production outcomes.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE



  • High School graduate - some college preferred.
  • 5+ years of precast management experience preferred
  • Good communication skills required (both written and oral)
  • Good organizational and planning skills required.
  • Experience with computer programs required. (Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point.) Print reading and drawing/blueprint skills preferred.
  • Proven ability to be a team leader.


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
