Job Description

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with an emphasis in Accounting

Personal Characteristics:

Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Must be able to read and understand financial statements. Must have good attention to detail, strong sense of urgency, and strong analytical/problem solving skills. Individual must be a results oriented self-starter who drives for continuous improvement. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere.

Work Experience:

Three to seven years of progressive experience in Accounting/Finance.

Principal Area of Responsibility:

This position is for a senior accounting professional that will use critical thinking and communication skills to apply accounting theory and knowledge. This position will apply skills to specific areas such as cost accounting, manufacturing analysis, account reconciliations, and accounting policy compliance for PCC Airfoils. This individual must ensure accuracy of financial statements by providing accurate accounting of transactions in area of responsibility in compliance with Sarbanes - Oxley (SOX) and PCC corporate policies. This position will require providing guidance and counsel for the work of others within the Accounting department.

Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for Work in Progress, Finished Goods, and Raw Material inventory levels, system processing, and metrics
  • Support Materials Team by completing required reporting and analyzing material usage and purchase price variances
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly Excess and Obsolete calculation while driving respective teams to minimize reserve
  • Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting data to evaluate operating results for profitability, performance to budget, etc.
  • Prepares month end account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Create and maintain adequate and appropriate procedural documentation
  • Ensures that all financial analysis, tracking, and reporting is completed in compliance with GAAP standards as well as Sarbanes-Oxley and corporate policies and requirements
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors
  • Perform other duties as are designated by the Accounting Manager
Physical and Mental Demands:

Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
