High volumemedical specialty office seeing patients of all ages for Ear, Nose and Throat issues. The Medical Assistant role works one on one with an ENT surgeon, supporting their practice with both direct patient care and administrative needs. Good working environment, team focused, supportive management with a friendly atmosphere. Seeking someone with the ability tomulti taskand stay organized and is patient care focused. New grads willbe alsoconsidered.

Summary:
The Medical Assistant (MA) role is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant MA role functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
3. Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
