Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Perioperative Support Specialist to join the team! This role will be Full-time Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

Perioperative Support Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the transferring/positioning of patients in the operating room in addition to assisting with patient surgical preparation as requested and directed by the nursing staff.
  • Prepares the operating room for cases by opening sterile supplies/instruments and maintaining awareness of aseptic technique.
  • Reads and understands the OR schedule and preference cards to prepare for the next surgical encounter.
  • Retrieves and delivers requested supplies and instruments to Operating Rooms to minimize the circulating nurse's time out of the room.
  • Gathers and packs instruments and sterile supplies for scheduled and added cases to provide efficient procedure set up of surgical cases.
  • Checks and validates case carts.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Years of Experience: 2 years of Recent Hospital experience and/or previous surgical services experience.

  • Certification: Basic Life Support via AHA within 3 months
