| Position Highlights |
Working at the intersection of a National Institute of Health-funded STEAM education initiative and Arizona Project WET, you will design and deliver programs that build environmental health and water literacy for youth and adults across Arizona. By cultivating meaningful community-academic partnerships and fully integrating the Integrated Environmental Science and Health Risk Lab and Arizona Project WET, you will strengthen the relationships and collaborative efforts that drive our work - expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and connecting more people to Arizona's environmental health, geochemical, and water story, and the science behind it.
What You'll Do: Teach and Create Content - Develop curriculum, training modules, and educational materials that blend environmental science, community science, and visual art. Content spans Arizona water systems, environmental health, and STEAM concepts - and meets learners where they are.
Coordinate Programs - Plan and run micro-credentialed trainings for both youth and adult audiences. You'll work closely with the placed-based community champions and the project management team to keep programs on track and moving forward. Conduct Research - Support hypothesis-driven informal science education research and help collect, evaluate, and analyze data on how participants learn and grow. Build Partnerships - Cultivate relationships with community organizations, K-12 educators, and local, state, and federal agencies. Continue to expand our programs reach and ensure the program and activities reflects the communities we are so honored to serve. What the Work is all about - This position advances four research questions: how advisory boards sharpen critical thinking and communication; how a certification program rooted in environmental science increases environmental health literacy (EHL); how equity-centered data-report back approaches build EHL; and how to successfully bring all people into STEAM learning. Outstanding U of A benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans; life insurance and disability programs; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; U of A/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; retirement plans; access to U of A recreation and cultural activities; and more! The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs. For more information about working at the University of Arizona and relocations services, please click here. |
