Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician - Overnight Shift Job Description We are seeking a Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician to support a 24x7x365 operations environment. This role is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting high-availability network and communications systems while ensuring timely incident response and resolution. This position works closely with team members to maintain critical customer services.
*Shift:* Overnight | *11:00 PM - 7:30 AM* This role requires availability for weekends and holidays as part of a rotating schedule. Primary Responsibilities * Monitor network management systems and engage telecommunications providers to drive service restoration. * Track incidents and maintain accurate, real-time updates within the incident management system. * Troubleshoot and resolve systems and network problems with limited scope and complexity. * Support high-availability IP networks, messaging systems, and air-to-ground data communication systems. * Respond to routine technical inquiries from internal business units and external customers. * Escalate issues appropriately and collaborate with team members to resolve moderate to complex incidents. * Take a lead role in resolving lower-complexity issues affecting customer services. * Monitor system performance and troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate network-related issues as needed. * Interpret and apply established processes while exercising sound judgment; errors may impact service availability. * Understand deployment, configuration, and maintenance processes and assist with improving efficiency through tools or automation. * Participate in network design discussions and system configuration activities. * Analyze issues and provide customers with guidance and recommendations for resolution. * Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications * Strong customer service and communication skills. * Basic to intermediate understanding of networking and system operations in a NOC environment. * Ability to troubleshoot and analyze technical issues methodically. * Experience working with incident management or ticketing systems. * Ability to follow defined processes while exercising independent judgment. * Comfortable working overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment. Work Environment * 24x7x365 Network Operations Center * Overnight shift schedule * Team-oriented environment with escalation support from technicians *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, MD. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
