Job Summary The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Research Coordinator II to join our team of professionals Duties: Develops recruitment materials, contacting potential study participants over the phone and/or in-person, and scheduling initial study visit. Informs and consent participants according to established and approved IRB-approved research protocols. Provides administrative assistance to study investigators regarding development and maintenance of IRB documents, and study protocols and data forms. Contacts study participants to schedule study visits. Conducts study interviews and collects physiological measures at a designated study sites. Writes, documents and/or otherwise records responses of the participantswith accuracy. Supervises Research Assistant(s) by reviewing their data entered into the database from the finished survey questions. Supervises Research Assistant(s) by reviewing their documented study visit summary notes and their prepared reports that are requested as needed. Performs any related duties as assigned by the supervisor. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties. Supervises Research Assistant(s), develops study protocol manuals and recruitment materials, contacts potential study participants over the phone and/or in-person, and schedules initial study visit. Primarily responsible, under the supervision of Center Director, for all Institutional Review Board (IRB)-related matters, including development and maintenance of IRB documents, active communication with IRB channels, and report preparation. Supervise Research Assistants who will inform and consent participants according to established and approved IRB-approved protocols. Conduct data management activities for studies led by the Center, has primary responsibility in the development and maintenance of research databases activities using proper software ( My NCBI and SciENcv, Epi info, SPSS, RefWorks and REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture)); e.g., data cleaning, creation of data dictionary, and implementation of data management plans. Assist Center Director in the planning, organization, execution, and evaluation of academic seminars, continuous medical education events, and other Center education initiatives. Assist Center Director in conducting literature reviews, management of citations databases, preparation of materials for grant applications, and scientific presentations. Provide direct support, as well as indirectly via supervision of administrative assistant for administrative activities of the Center, including preparation and processing of travel-related documents, primarily responsible in corporate credit card reconciliation in coordination with HWCOM Department of Finance, purchasing of supplies and equipment, and scheduling of meetings. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience. Desired Qualifications Multi-lingual capabilities minimum of English and Spanish preferred. Prior experience with public health surveying and/or surveillance techniques preferred. Knowledge of community-based research methodologies. Travel required throughout Miami Dade County. Successful completion of FIU's human subjects protection IRB certification required within two (2) weeks of being hired. Primarily M-F; flexible hours & days; occasional evenings; occasional weekends as scheduled.
