Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a SQA Test Engineer, Senior to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The role of the Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer is to develop and execute test cases independent of supervision and to provide technical and domain knowledge to peers. This role involves using established guidelines to execute test cases and analyze root cause defects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and execute test plans, test cases, and automation scripts based on requirements and design; contribute to test planning activities and maintain test documentation, including the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
  • Perform end-to-end SQA (GUI, back-end, interface, batch, regression, automation, and performance testing), document results, manage defects (including root cause analysis and validation of fixes), and create/review test data in alignment with project standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide regular status updates to leadership, present test scenarios to clients, and proactively identify, escalate, and help resolve risks and issues while adapting to changing project needs with minimal guidance
  • Apply SQA methodologies, best practices, and domain expertise to ensure test objectives are met; stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Mentor and support junior team members, provide technical and functional guidance, deliver and receive feedback, uphold strong customer service standards, and ensure compliance with corporate policies, including HIPAA

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred majors: Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field)
  • 7+ years of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) experience
  • Experience with SDLC and STLC
  • Moderate back-end SQA experience
  • Fundamental programming knowledge
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with database tools (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, TOAD)
  • Experience with defect management tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Working knowledge of Unix commands
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio) and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Webex, Skype)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or healthcare
  • Experience testing multi-tiered applications or transaction processing systems
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium) and performance testing tools
  • In-depth knowledge of SQA automation practices and standards
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in team environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Experience in Lieu of Degree

For non-clinical roles, or when not required by the contract specifically, the Company acknowledges that practical, hands-on experience can provide skills and competencies equivalent to formal education. USD $99,040.00 - USD $123,800.00 /Yr.
